Easter Again
Another Easter has passed. Don't they come around quickly? This year I managed to catch one of the small Easter Bunnies and convinced her/it to stay with us. She says her name is Bonny, so that definitely makes her "her", not "it". Of course that meant that I "inherited" the extra eggs that she had with her. Added into my stash with the chocolate bunnies and eggs from Bro Trent and the Oldies, plus the white choccy cow and egg that Bonny was delivering to me, plus extras from Aunty Enid, I have enough chocolate to last me for ages. I may even share some of the stash with the Oldies. And to top it all off a parcel arrived on Easter Thursday addressed to me. It was from Unka Ray and Aunty Libby and it had a beaut colourful Bart-sized tent in it. I have camped in it all over the Easter break. I have to pack it away now because we are busy getting ready to fly off on a new adventure in a couple of days. Not overseas this time, but to something really spectacular in the red centre of Australia.

I Caught Him!
Yes, I actually caught the Easter Bunny, or at least an Easter Bunny. I set out a big glass bowl with a sign that said "Leave Eggs Here" and hid to see what would happen. Of course I went to sleep, but one of the advantages of using a big glass bowl is that they tinkle when things are dropped into them and that wakes a sleeping bear up. Sure enough, there was this small bunny trying to lift eggs almost as big as himself up higher than he was. Being a helpful small bear, I offered to help him and got talking to him. It seems that the Easter Bunny is not the world's best employer and leaves a lot of the work up to small helpers like this one. They are not well-payed, it seems like child slavery to me, so I offered to let him stay and live with us. Fortunately, Mum likes him too so he has joined the ever-growing band of small critters at our house. The only problem is, what will happen next Easter? Will Big Bunny send another apprentice around to our house, or will he come himself?Labels: Easter

Happy Easter !!!!
Wishing all my readers a happy Easter. For small kids and critters Easter is a happy time because chocolate eggs mysteriously appear overnight. Legend has it that they are delivered by a rabbit. I find that kind of strange, but as long as the delivery is made it is OK by me, no matter what the delivery guy is. This morning I found a big chocolate egg and a choccy bunny waiting for me. I used to wonder where these strange Easter bunnies and chickens disappeared to, but that was before I found out that they were actually chocolate. OK, I have a large egg, now what to do with it? I could just eat it, but I want to do something special with it, so right now I am sitting in front of the TV watching my favourite chef lady, hoping she has an easy recipe for Easter egg omelette.

Easter Friends
It's that time of year again when strange critters come to visit and then disappear after a time in the fridge. This year there were a couple of dumb-looking bunnies and a chick like the one that visited last year. They bought lots of strange eggs with them. The eggs are all different colours and crinkly and shiny on the outside but when you peel the outsides off they are chocolate inside. That means that unless I hide them very carefully the Oldies will eat them all. Oldies really can't resist chocolate, and small bears have sometimes been known to nibble some as well. A horrible thought has just struck me. The bunnies and chick are crinkly and shiny on the outside as well. Are they chocolate on the inside too, and is this why they disappear so soon after Easter? I'm off to the fridge to check.Labels: Easter

Where Did They Go?

These guys were a strange crew that I made friends with last Easter. They evidently liked the Canberra cold because they lived in the fridge for a while. When they got warm they really did start to sag and go soggy. They disappeared a couple of days after Easter and haven't been seen since. When I ask about them Dad just rubs his tummy and looks thoughtful.
